My name is Veronica Velasco, and I have been a nurse for nearly 25 years. I have worked as a Critical Care nurse, a hospital educator, Cath Lab Holding supervisor, and professor at CSULB and UCI. Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) 8am-12pm
In this 4-hour course, students will learn about the cardiovascular system and the effects of coronary artery disease (CAD). Basic anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system will be discussed, as well as risk factors and diseases that contribute to CAD. Special consideration will be given to preventative measures to reduce disease process as well as management and care of those living with CAD. $30
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) 1pm-5pm
In this 4-hour course, students will learn about Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and the risks associated with it. Basic anatomy and physiology will be discussed as well as risks, treatment, and management of disease. $30

In this 4-hour course, students will learn about care of our geriatric population as it pertains to common health issues. Topics covered include adult kidney disease, the immunocompromised patient, and urinary tract infections. Special consideration is given to the older adult population and how to help manage and care for them.

Risk factors, disease process, treatment and long-term effects of this disease will be discussed. Special consideration will be given to preventative measures as well as chronic care of those living with DM.
In this 4-hour course, students will learn about Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and the risks associated with it. Basic anatomy and physiology will be discussed as well as risks, treatment, and management of disease.
